Overview of the Role
As a member of the Maintenance team, the Stationary Engineer is responsible for the routine/preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of the manufacturing and building equipment. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining 600HP & 300 HP Fire Tube Boilers, facility Ammonia Refrigeration system and other related equipment in the Edmonton Operation. The shift is 12-hour rotating schedule, in a 24/7 operation which includes, days, nights and weekends.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Facilitates the timely and efficient preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Trouble shoots and repairs equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.
- Works with other trades groups, vendors and contractors to complete project assignments as required.
- Proper documentation of work performed, parts used, time sheets, FLRA, HACCP documents, etc.
- Performance of other duties as required.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is required, 3rd class would be an asset.
- Secondary trade in Plumbing, Electrical, Millwright or wastewater experience would be an asset
- Ammonia refrigeration experience would be a strong asset.
- Strong mechanical background would be an asset (Small pump seals, valve repairs, HVAC, air compressors, etc).
- Excellent mechanical skills and ability to carry out general plant/ equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrate excellent trouble shooting skills and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and within an interdependent team.
- A high level of self-motivation and initiative.
- Proven proficiency and dependability in current position with a good safety record.
- Working conditions may include confined spaces, heights, varying temperatures with some heavy lifting.
- Food industry experience would be an asset.
