Job Description:

This position requires the ability to attain Reliability Status Clearance in a timely manner. Therefore, we require that applicants have lived in Canada for at least 5 years or more. No exceptions please.

Summary

• As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for Sun Life's web sites, applications, APIs, and mobile apps you will execute within the Event and Performance Management organization with an excellence and innovation mindset to support project and operational delivery priorities from performance engineering prospective

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of Performance Test Engineering and Monitoring experience.
• Expertise in at least one of the Performance Testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner (preferred), Jmeter, or NeoLoad)
• Expertise with Monitoring tools such as Broadcom DXI (preferred) or AppDynamics or similar.
• Expertise in at least one programing language is a strong asset (Java, C, VB etc)
• Expertise in at least one scripting language (python, batch, shell)

Skills

• Expert in Performance Testing and debugging performance issues
• Expert in creating complex performance testing scripts, prepare performance scenarios and in analyzing performance reports
• Familiar with methodologies related to early performance testing
• In depth knowledge of at least one programing language (Java, C, VB etc.) would be a strong asset but not necessarily required.
• In depth knowledge of at least one scripting language (python, batch, shell etc)
• Knowledge of Grafana or comparable dashboard technology
• Experience with Broadcom DXI suite (APM, ASM, OI, AXA) is a plus
• Experience with Excel macros is a plus
• Experience in an event management and log monitoring tools
• Solid problem solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead performance engineering on complex projects, manage conflicts
• Working with the IT Project Delivery and IT Operations to aid in the identification of performance issues, end to end performance testing and monitoring requirements, implementation and training and education. Drives the execution of monitoring implementations and configurations focusing on excellence, innovation and client value.
• Actively participate in the journey to AIOps
• Embrace automation

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
