Within TD Technology, the TBSM Technology Team (TTT) is dedicated to support the Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department in measuring and managing market risk (interest rate, equity and foreign exchange) for the Bank's retail portfolios, both in Canada and the US. TTT creates models, financial systems, applications and processes required to support various functional teams in TBSM.

About This Role

TBSM Technology Team (TTT) is looking for a Senior IT Developer to join the Retail Liquidity development team. We are looking for someone to embrace a broad range of tasks associated with developing application and systems solutions to address business challenges.

Sitting in this position will help expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise and introduce you to the inner workings of our Treasury alongside a team of seasoned, diversely-skilled technology and finance professionals. Our team is made up of dynamic and strong technical leads, developers, and BSA's who build and maintain critical technology platforms in an Agile environment. You'll be exposed to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects built on the .NET stack.

Here's some of what you may be asked to perform:

  • Transform business requirements and research into winning delivery solutions that meet performance goals.
  • Design and develop SSIS packages for ETL processes to integrate data from various source systems.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft SSAS multidimensional data cubes.
  • Develop SQL code / stored procedures / SQL Agent Jobs on SQL Server / MDX queries.
  • Design and develop automated reports using SSRS.
  • Design and enhance relational and dimensional data models.
  • Perform systems administration: monitor, configure, back-up, authenticate, tune.
  • Aim for defect-free programming, create and maintain quality code, provide support during testing cycles and post-production deployment, engage in peer code reviews.
  • Contribute to project plans, estimations and status updates.
  • Identify issues, develop and maintain processes that address and resolve them, (and be sure to communicate/alert stakeholders as needed).
  • Primarily focus on day-to-day activities.
  • Make enhancements and troubleshoot.
  • Configure and develop custom components with technology partners (analysts, developers, designers etc.) to meet requirements and goals.
  • Ensure applications are free of common coding vulnerabilities (and follow standard security practices).
  • Proactively put forward ideas that speak to project objectives (e.g. development, testing solutions, and tools).
  • Complete unit and integration testing per standards and design specs.
  • Take part in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis.
  • Respect TD's technology delivery practices and standards, project management disciplines.
  • Stay on top of state-of-health monitoring and monthly SLA targets.
  • Apply and share technical expertise during incident management life cycle (e.g. analyzes reports and outages, perform impact assessments, facilitate stakeholder communication).

  • Play technical leadership role and guide other team members.
  • Communicate effectively both inside and outside the team to achieve results and build strong relationships.
  • Develop a good understanding of Market Risk management processes in the Banking business.

Job Requirements

What can you bring to TD?

Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing on SQL Server 2012 or above
  • 3-5 years of solid hands-on C# programming experience on the Microsoft stack, including ASP.NET MVC development.
  • Experience in Entity Framework and Web API 2.
  • Hands-on experience with client-side Web Frameworks like JavaScript, JQuery, JQueryUI, AJAX, JSON, Angular 2/4/5.
  • Working knowledge of BitBucket, Jenkins and SonarQube
  • Advanced and extensive knowledge of the business (or organization), technical environment, standards, processes, procedures, programming languages and operating systems.
  • Readiness and motivation (as senior or lead developer and valued subject matter expert) to address and resolve highly complex and multifaceted development-related issues, often independently.
  • Strength in coaching and advising clients, partners and project teams.
  • Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables.

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation & communication skills.
  • Proactive, organized, excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Works well independently, as well as, within a team.
  • Financial experience is a strong asset.
