The Opportunity:
As Specialty Insurance Manager, you will manage the underwriting function and broker relationship with timely and accurate input of client information and issuance of policy documentation. You will also oversee the Programs Underwriting Team.

• Provide direction to team members and provide leadership to the team.
• Provide regular, timely feedback sessions with all members of the Underwriting team. Feedback sessions should include discussions on performance, service standards and accuracy.
• Implement action plans for any members of the team that are not meeting the targets in place around service standards or accuracy.
• Convenes and leads regular meetings with the team and supports the Leadership Team by ensuring initiatives are implemented effectively.
• Reinforces collaboration and demonstrates commitment to excellence, while supporting a client focused experience within the team.
• Create, manage and maintain office and processing guidelines and procedures.
• Develop and implement process efficiency initiatives within the team.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of company operations and procedures.
• Develop service level standards within the Underwriting team.
• Participate in the development of new underwriting and issuance system to ensure all business requirements are met.
• Collaborate on the implementation plan of Policy Issuance system to ensure timely and efficient training and rollout.
• Subject matter expert on Issuance system and will be the key point person for training, system issues and other processing related issues
• Work collaboratively with various departments and on special projects when required.

Here’s what you bring:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance industry
• Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred
• Eligible for Level 2 General Insurance License
• CIP designation (or in-progress) preferred
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
• Efficient typing and data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail
• Skilled in effective time management, multi-tasking, and adaptability
• Proactive and collaborative in meeting the needs of the clients and the team
• Able to work independently with limited supervision
