Greetings! The Virtual Bootstrap Environment(ViBE) team is seeking Sr. Software Development Engineers to join their group of highly experienced SREs and SDEs. The team is responsible for providing the platform that enables OCI to build new regions using pre-existing regions. As a member of the team, a key part of your responsibilities would be designing and developing new features and supporting ongoing operations for the ViBE Platform. Additionally, the team is building an insights platform to use OCI data to measure performance, track failures, provide recommendations on improvements, and to track regressions for automation. As such, it is important that applicants for this role have a strong background in data science, leveraging one or more big-data technologies like Apache Spark. Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 2+ years of experience with big-data platforms like Apache Map/Reduce or Spark
- Expert proficiency in one of the following software development languages
- Python
- Java
- Go
- JavaScript
- R
- C/C++
- Experience building and supporting enterprise infrastructure and applications.
- Unix-like Systems(MacOS, RedHat)
- CLI
- Troubleshooting
- Basic Admin

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
