Shipper/Receiver Job at Elasto-Valve Rubber Products Inc.
Job Summary
- Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of manufactured products and receiving of materials required for manufacturing.
Job Duties
- Loading manufactured products for shipment and unloading received goods
- Responsible for filling customer orders and facilitating their transportation and delivery in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Monitor and report on inventory levels and work in progress
- Responsible for the final assembly of pinch valves and expansion joints and the testing of parts that are required immediately prior to shipping, pursuant to the work order
- Responsible for monthly warehouse inventory count.
- Accurately monitoring and recording shipping and receiving information on all items delivered and received; completing the Shop Standing Order and Bill of Lading prior to shipping
- Safely operating forklift to move materials or manufactured parts, as required
- Ensuring work area is kept clean and organized according to health and safety standards
- Other duties as required and/or assigned
Working Conditions
- Work is conducted in a well-ventilated, well-spaced work area. Frequent and heavy lifting is required, as is operation of equipment and machinery. Above average physical stamina is also required to conduct the required duties. Occasional overtime is required.
Qualifications
- Ability to remain well organized in a fast paced environment
- Ability to plan ahead to establish and meet deadlines
- Computer skills required
- Previous experience in shipping-receiving and assembly, as well as in operating related machinery and equipment, preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to operate power tools/equipment and forklift
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player considered an asset
- Understanding of ISO quality management system is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills
