Summary:

The Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable position will be responsible for leading collections performance for the Quebec based collections team, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) & Insolvencies and 3rd party collections team. You will play a key role to define and deliver on the short and long term Accounts Receivable strategies for Bell Business Markets, including defining requirements for process and system enhancements. We are looking for a candidate with an aptitude to create business impacts using data-driven analytics. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to identify and work with our BI team to implement the latest practices in data analytics to drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement activities relating to collections that drive improved timeliness, accuracy, compliance and discipline that will contribute to the goals and objectives of the department
  • Work with internal partners in Business Intelligence and Transformation to drive data-driven business decisions related to AR, EFT and 3rd party Vendor performance
  • Oversee the analysis of accounts and help formulate collection strategies
  • Establish targets for key metrics and effectively motivate the team to meet or exceed these targets
  • Develop business relationships with major external customers to facilitate dispute resolution
  • Develop, manage, motivate and coach staff to fulfill departmental performance goals while also encouraging employee growth and engagement
  • Oversee the EFT team and gain insights from metrics and data to build strategies and process improvements on boarding and maintaining of customer profiles
  • Work with legal and trustees on bankruptcy, legal procedures, solvencies, security laws to gain maximum recovery of outstanding A/R

Competencies/Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience working in a collections environment within a managerial role, effectively managing a group of 10 or more
  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership and a passion for learning new skills
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a large fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good business and financial acumen
  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or a Certified Credit designation (CCP) in Credit Management or an Accounting Designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • “Change agent” with vision and execution expertise who can challenge the status quo while successfully lead transformation
  • Intermediate to Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Powerpoint
