About us: Tacofino began as a food truck in the back of a surf shop in beautiful Tofino, British Columbia. We balanced surfing with creating world-inspired food from the best possible ingredients and wrapping them in delicious fresh tortillas. We have since grown into four restaurants and three food trucks across the Lower Mainland and Victoria.

About you: We are growing and have an opportunity for a great person who is looking to join our team as a Senior Prep Cook. You believe in hard work, enjoy being part of a team, and like having fun.

Schedule:

Day Shift: 9am-5pm

Evening Shift: 2pm-10pm

Role objective: Monitor and process protein production from start to finish. Will include raw processing procedures as well as searing, braising and cooking.

Responsibilities:

• Follow company procedures and standards
• Handle inventory with care and attention to detail
• Accurately inspect and weigh raw produce
• Cutting and dressing meat for production, light butchery involved
• Working effectively with production team and follow company safety policies and procedures
• Monitoring multiple productions simultaneously
• Ensure that product is rotated properly in storage and production
• Communicate effectively with leadership to complete daily tasks
• Adhere to production schedule
• Ensure that equipment is being maintained and cleaned after use
• Preparing ingredients following recipes and guidelines
• Overseeing food levels and letting leadership know of any restocking
• Preparing work station and keeping station sanitary and organized throughout your shift

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years kitchen experience required
• Food preparation ability and knife skills
• Food Safe level 1 an asset (but if you don't have it, we will get it for you!)
• Able to produce recipes to specifications
• Problem-solving abilities
• Able to work well under pressure and within deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends, according to the needs of the business
• Ability to multitask
