You have a professional accounting designation and five to seven years’ experience in a relevant finance role. IFRS knowledge would be an asset. You are adept in the use of current major financial software (Oracle preferred) and MS Office programs with excellent skills in Microsoft Excel.

The Opportunity
The Accounting & Reporting department is part of BC Ferries’ Finance Division and is responsible for producing external financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner as well as providing accounting expertise to senior management in the decision-making process.
Senior Financial Analyst is part of the dynamic and results-driven team of accounting professionals. You are an analytical, detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational, time management and prioritization skills. You are responsible for reviewing and interpreting new and existing IFRS; reconciling and analyzing complex accounts; preparing financial statements and working papers; reviewing reconciliations and assisting in the development and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures. Providing professional accounting advice and ensuring internal controls are met are both part of your daily duties.

Qualifications and Skills
You are a flexible self-starter with a strong focus on customer service and corporate objectives. You are highly productive, adaptable and an effective communicator who is able to facilitate solutions.
