Insurity’s next Senior Cloud Operations Infrastructure Administrator

Insurity’s Cloud Operations Team is currently in search of a Senior Cloud Operations Infrastructure Administrator to help design, automate and streamline the migration of various infrastructure workloads to the public cloud environment. You will be an inspiring leader with public cloud technologies as well as participate in the setup of the necessary infrastructure to support Insurity’s continued growth in the insurance industry. Your contributions to the team will help guide design decisions and implement tooling and technologies to help with both migration, maintenance, and ongoing support of our public cloud environments.

What You’ll Do

• Implement and be responsible for infrastructure, system, and application projects
• Work with internal and external clients to investigate and resolve complex issues related to production level systems in a timely manner
• Act as Domain Expert in specific designated areas and tools
• Design processes, improvements, and automation
• Work with various internal teams to identify design specifications
• Document and diagram new systems and processes
• Optimize the operation of domain-specific systems with a constant focus on uptime and availability
• Track and monitor Cloud environment metrics to determine growth and resource constraints
• Recommend industry standard methodologies
• Perform tasks across various areas of technology to support the Cloud Ops team’s applications and infrastructure
• Participate in rotating team on-call support for production systems
• Provide mentorship to team members
• Stay up-to-date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 3-5 years of experience working in a similar role
• 1x certification in a Public Cloud technology:
• AWS Professional Certification
• Other certifications for domain-specific expertise may qualify
• Availability for “off-hours” on-call and collaboration
• Cloud IaaS/PaaS offerings using Amazon Web Service
• Windows/Linux system administration

Working knowledge of:

• Database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or Microsoft SQL Server
• Container Tech one or more of Docker, Helm, or Fargate
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates

Experience with:

• Systems analysis, application clustering technologies, and public cloud disaster recovery practice
• TCP/IP-based networking
• Security impacts
• Tiered architecture
• Impeccable responsibility with high-risk data and decisions
• Superb communication skills
• Desire and ability to excel in a remote environment

Where: This role can be performed either remotely or based in our Montreal, Quebec office.

Note: This role is expected to begin remotely due to COVID-19.
