Your Opportunity:

Provides clerical services for the Record Processing section of Health Information Management. This position may be responsible for one or more of the following tasks to ensure immediate access to patient information: process outpatient/ inpatient, day surgery, emergency and ambulatory care visit documentation, performs deficiency management functions, maintains control of patient records to ensure immediate access, maintains integrity of the Records Management and the ADT databases, filing, scanning and performs other related duties as required to support the Health Information Management Department.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of Medical Terminology course. (Testing will be performed at the time of interview)- Experience in Health Records or equivalent related experience with computerized systems. The incumbent must be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in completing tasks and be able to work with a high degree of independence and accountability. Must be physically able to perform duties involving standing, sitting, bending, and stretching for extended periods of time. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work quickly yet accurately. Maintain a positive attitude in a busy environment. Good team player and have exceptional communication and interpersonal skill. Excellent computer skills required with Windows Application (ability of 50 wpm required).

Preferred Qualifications:

The familiarity of Alberta Health Services and Programs is an asset. Working knowledge of patient/ client filing systems is an asset, particularly terminal digit systems.
