Located in the Selkirk mountains among the west arm of Kootenay Lake is a vibrant community of outdoor enthusiasts where an opportunity exists for a Seasonal Relief Captain located in beautiful Nelson, BC.
The M.V. Osprey 2000 is a 240 foot RORO ferry and has azipod steering and requires 500 ton Certification or higher.
The Relief Captain reports to the Marine Manager and is responsible for the shift coverage of the regular Masters to facilitate summer relief between June 2023 and October 2023 and is best suited for a retired individual thinking of locating in the Nelson area.
The Relief Captain is responsible for supervision of licensed and unlicensed members of the crew.
The position has a shift pattern of 6 on 3 off 8.5 hour days with am and pm shifts.
A basic understanding of computer applications to administer various programs and the ability to manage customer service matters effectively and with diplomacy are also required.
