Sales Agent

$16.00 per hour

Do you love to shop and get excited by the latest and greatest in cool gadgets and neat items? Are you into science? Do you love to help people? We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to complement the On-site Sales and Service team and help us achieve sales and profit goals as well as deliver exceptional customer experience in Whizards Gift Shop at Science North.

The Sales Agent will:

• Perform opening and closing duties
• Troubleshoot errors/problems
• Operate and maintain equipment
• Handle cash transactions
• Balance cash and compile associated financial reports
• Promote and sell gift shop products
• Price new product arrivals
• Create attractive displays
• Maintain supplies and inventory
• Act on customer concerns
• Ensure a clean, healthy and safe environment for visitors and staff
• Oversee and task sales clerks
• Support other Science North attractions and onsite businesses

To be successful you will bring with you:

• Demonstrated retail sales experience
• Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail
• A customer centered attitude
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as with autonomy
• Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy
• An interest and ability to take on a leadership role
• Fluency in spoken English and French
• Daytime, evening, and weekend availability

This is a full-time, one year contract opportunity with possibility for renewal.
