Job Posting – Restoration Estimator

ServiceMaster Restore of Edmonton is Edmonton’s largest disaster restoration franchise, offering 24 hour/365 day assistance to anyone in need after a disaster has occurred. ServiceMaster of Edmonton employees are committed to following strict standards in water removal, fire/smoke restoration, mold removal and other disaster restoration services.

ServiceMaster Restore of Edmonton is currently looking for a Restoration Estimator.

Job Duties

• Estimating the loss and reconstruction of residential and commercial water, fire, wind, mold, and asbestos restoration projects using Xactimate software.
• Preparing and interpreting sketches for estimating purposes
• Work closely with Project Managers and Coordinators to ensure scope of work and uploads are completed in a timely manner.
• Prepare materials, labor and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out loss and reconstruction projects.
• Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete scope of work.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures.
• Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quote.
• Monitor control points/KPIs with insurance adjusters to ensure timelines are met
• Monitor estimate uploads to ensure specific timelines are met
• Reporting outstanding estimates to Project Managers and Estimating team
• Monitor Xactanalysis notes to ensure Project Managers and Coordinators are providing status updates on all ongoing jobs
• Tracking of all job using excel and our internal program
• Keep up to date on client protocols and update our system as needed
• Data Entry and maintaining records/spreadsheets for all jobs
• Reception coverage
• Assist Project Coordinators as needed

Requirements

• Personable with ability to effectively communicate both in verbal and written form
• Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates.
• Confident in the decision making process
• Able to work with limited supervision
• Ability to recognize and solve problems with minimal supervision
• Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure and tight timelines
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of various insurance carrier estimating protocols
• Effectively work with customers, adjusters, sub-contractors and employees at all levels of the organization
• Ability to prioritize and meet all assigned time lines
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Customer focused - respond promptly to customer needs.
• Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances.
• Approachable and sensitive to diverse situations
• Flexible to work overtime (including evenings and weekends) as required

Education and Experience

• Minimum 3 year’s work experience working as an Estimator and/or Project Manager in the restoration and/or construction industry
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency of Xactimate/Xactanalysis software
• Construction knowledge would be considered a definite asset
• Extensive data entry experience with a high degree of accuracy
• Exceptional skills in Microsoft office programs including Word, Outlook and Excel. Certification in Advanced Excel will be considered an asset
