Permanent Part Time

Schedule 1: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (16 hours/week)

Schedule 2: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (21.5 hours/week)

Peel Region (Brampton and Mississauga)

Work Arrangement: Community/Onsite

Position Summary:

ErinoakKids is currently seeking energetic Respite Service Facilitators to support children and youth with Autism within our URS respite program. Through this exciting new program you will have the opportunity to be a part of the larger URS team that strives to support clients to stabilize challenging behaviours and give them access to much needed respite services. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work towards supporting clients as they participate in recreation and daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating recreation activities and activities of daily living for participants in the Respite Program.
• Employ behavior management strategies as set out by the URS Direct Service team.
• Work towards maximizing client independence in day to day activities.
• Engage in general client care including feeding, dressing and toileting as needed.
• Promote participation in recreation activities and social skill development.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and youth with Autism;
• Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviors;
• Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an asset;
• Experience with assisting individuals in personal care;
• Current C.P.R. and First Aid and CPI certificate is preferred;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends;
• Enjoy working with children in a team atmosphere;
• Valid driver license and access to a vehicle is required;
• Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
