Residential Estimator / Drafter
This person would be required to work with SMC Staff and Clients to provide pricing for new residential construction. This would include single-family homes and Multifamily units.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Estimating costs for new home projects.
- Administrating job releases, tenders, and issuing Purchase Orders.
- Pricing, and coordinating with clients for change orders.
- Creating & maintaining product & option catalogs.
- Assist in negotiating with trades and suppliers on product pricing.
- Creating construction specifications.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of current product availability as it relates to residential design.
- Assist in initiatives to improve production processes, policies, models, and technology utilization.
- Maintaining an active working relationship and consistent line of communication with trades & suppliers, team members, and customers.
- Contribute to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Post-Secondary education in Architectural Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in an estimating role.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Estimating Programs, AutoCAD, Buildxact, MS Project, and Chief Architect.
- Strong proficiency in reading and understanding plans & specifications.
- Strong understanding of basic construction principles.
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
