The Simcoe

County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position

of Research Assistant – Student supporting Indigenous Education programming

outcomes (or initiatives) for Summer 2023 in the SCDSB’s Research and Decision

Support Services department. Reporting to the Manager of Research and Decision

Support, the successful candidate will work on special projects including

exploring data and outcomes for Indigenous learners. This position requires qualitative

and/or quantitative data analysis and research skills. This position will work

on-site at the Education Centre.

Qualifications:
Required: In accordance with the

Ontario Human Rights Code, this role will focus on data / research related to

Indigenous students and preference will be given to candidates with lived

experience. University or College student, with experience and/ or training

in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, editing and report writing. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Extensive computer

experience and a working knowledge of

PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheet applications

and willingness to learn new applications.

Preferred: An understanding of quantitative and/or

qualitative data analysis and the ability to organize, merge and summarize

large quantities of data or text.
