The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a Casual / On-Call RCMP CPIC Clerical position. Under the direction of the Detachment Commander, HR Manager or designate, employees in this position perform routine and non-routine clerical functions including but not limited to word processing, transcription of tapes, reception and records management.

The successful candidate must have completed Grade 12 and a basic office administration program or have related experience in an office environment; have accurate keyboarding/typing skills of 60 wpm; be familiar with standard computer operation, word processing software, transcription hardware and software, and have the physical ability to perform transcription duties over long periods of time. The successful applicant will be required to either hold or comply with and receive approval of a Security/Reliability Clearance and a Criminal Record Search.

The successful candidate must also have the ability to perform all duties in a safe manner following established policies and procedures; have the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members and be willing to comply with all future training requirements. Preference will be given to a qualified candidate who possesses a current Security/Reliability Clearance; has general training as required by the Federal Department of the RCMP Division; has previous experience in policing support functions and switchboard operations; and possesses knowledge of the CPIC data entry, Operations System of Reporting and the Police Information Retrieval System.
