Responsibilities
- Establishes requirements for RF projects. Provide support throughout the design, production, and testing cycles.
- Assist with RF product development and testing.
- Design, build, and integrate RF circuits.
- Troubleshoot RF design and performance issues.
- Use RF test equipment including but not limited to RF enclosures, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Work with Production team to resolve RF product manufacturing problems.
- Convert product requirements into conceptual designs and develop prototypes.
- Create new RF programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas.
- Customize and modify existing circuits.
- Provide technical analysis for proposal writing activities.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required. A strong preference is given to individuals with an academic specialization in RF.
- Experience designing RF components, especially power amplifiers, synthesizers, and related circuitry.
- Must possess a working knowledge of antennas, reflectors, phased arrays, beamformers, transmission line theory, amplifiers, power amplifiers, and passive RF circuit design.
- Experience with one or more design and analysis software tools such as HFSS, Ansoft Designer, CST, TICRA, Mician, Microwave Office, WIPL-D, MatLab, and NEC is preferred.
- Must have hands-on experience performing S-parameter measurements, antenna pattern measurements using either far or near field techniques, and antenna gain measurements.
- Knowledge of practical RF system considerations such as path loss calculation, cascade noise figure, and intercept point.
- Hands-on experience with RF Test Equipment - spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, and noise figure analyzers.
- Experience with soldering and component removal/replacement.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and access to an automobile (period travel to customer site).
- Ability to travel, as required (US and Canada).
