Key responsibilities:

  • Daily purchasing requirements to support real-time operations
  • Vendor Relationship and Purchasing Power Management
  • Further Development of Purchasing Procedure and Policy(s) as required
  • Management of the purchasing order process for financial accuracy
  • Work with other business units, including Finance and Operations to resolve outstanding invoices and issues.
  • Effectively communicate with all areas of business and deliver a high standard of internal customer service; process changes, analysis of issues, investigation and issue resolution and provide direction for improvements.

Requirements:

  • Post secondary education or equivalent experience in purchasing role.
  • Effective written and oral communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Analytical and mathematical capabilities to compare prices and quantities and consider vendor contract terms.
  • Ability to evaluate market conditions and source using various suppliers.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of all levels within the organization.
  • Strong organizational, time management and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Working Knowledge of Forestry, sawmill and wood manufacturing Industry would be an asset.
