POSITION TITLE: Prospect Researcher

CLASSIFICATION / Classification “III” per Schedule A of the collective agreement

RATE OF PAY:

DEPARTMENT: Advancement Office

The University of Windsor is situated on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations: the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Prospect Researcher identifies, researches, develops and tracks prospects (individuals, corporations and foundations who may donate to the University) to assist in the success of the University of Windsor fundraising campaign.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have:

· A University degree in a related field as determined by the employer and 2 years’ work experience in fundraising (includes individual giving, events, campaigns and/or volunteer management)

· Must be skilled in computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel and fundraising software

· Experience using prospect research software and the internet for research

· Ability to work independently with minimal direction and in a team environment

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to analyze financial disclosure documents for the purposes of wealth assessment (e.g. SEC filings, real property files, financial and legal disclosures, etc.)

· Excellent oral and interpersonal skills, including a high level of diplomacy and tact

· Strong multi-tasking skills are necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· A University degree in Library Science is preferred.
