Key Responsibility Areas:
Assembly:

  • Works with care and attention to ensure the assembly process is free of errors and incidents.
  • Works in a variety of areas which may include component assembly, mechanical, electrical or hydraulic assembly.
  • Builds sub-components using tools to bolt components together.
  • Follows diagrams and instructions using standardized practices.
  • Applies acquired skills and experience, asks for guidance and instruction when uncertain.
  • Retrieves required parts from job-specific bins – pre-assembled (e.g. bolts, clamps, valves).
  • Retrieves painted parts on shelves for proper assembly.
  • Retrieves some components from the warehouse (Consumables, special items).
  • Pays attention to stock levels (e.g. wire, airlines, supplies).

Prep

  • Build and install parts on the chassis in an efficient manner in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures, while meeting quality standards.
  • Become competent in dealing with a variety of systems including blowers, cooling, driveline, hydraulics, electrical and others as required.
  • Pre-assemble components for later assembly and installation.
  • Keep track of paperwork for parts and ensure that parts are accounted for.
  • Follow instruction from the assigned Lead Hand or Supervisor.
  • Be confident in their ability to use various power tools and equipment, especially grinders and magnet drills.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Completion of High School.
  • Mechanical and Construction, courses are desirable.

Experience

  • Mechanical or related experience is preferred. On the job training will be provided.
  • Manufacturing experience is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in an industrial shop environment. It is a very dusty environment and can be warm in the summer and cold in the winter due to the bay doors opening for parts movement. The work requires an ability to lift heavy objects, and to work in a variety of positions (standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing and underneath vehicles) for long periods of time.
  • Proper use of all required Personal Protective Equipment is a requirement of these positions. The employee will provide CSA-approved safety footwear. All other PPE will be provided.

Salary: $23.75-$26.00 per hour
