Position Summary

Bring your knowledge and expertise of strategy and business planning processes, and find new trends and insights that will impact key institutional decisions. Reporting to the Director, you will collaborate with various internal stakeholders up to Executive level to support the development, progress and achievement of transformative strategies. Using an evidence-based perspective, you will identify and analyse institutional strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT) to support the college’s planning initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Lead foresight research, SWOT analyses and identify key industry and competitive trends to shape long-term strategic and annual business planning
  • Develop and optimize the planning process to standardize the collection and evaluation of activities across all Divisions to align with key Institutional goals
  • Identify key performance indicators and develop diagnostic summaries to enable institutional prioritization and facilitate decision-making to deliver against institutional goals
  • Engage Executive team and Management Forum to assist with college-wide strategy formulation, communication and deployment efforts
  • Act as a trusted partner and human-centred design strategist fostering strong relationships across key stakeholders and teams
  • Facilitate development of an institutional Fact Base with key stakeholders to support strategic formulation
  • Partner closely with the Project Management Office and IT Delivery Centre to centralize and coordinate capacity planning and prioritization
  • Develop, monitor and manage balanced scorecards as a strategy management tool
  • Conduct stakeholders analyses and needs assessment
  • Oversee benchmarking initiatives, facilitate planning discussions, and analyze submissions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and to prepare diagnostics

Qualifications/Experience

  • Master’s degree/post-graduate degree or equivalent with a focus on Business and Strategic Planning, Analytics, Business Intelligence, Economics; equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of relevant and progressive work experience in strategy formation; business modelling and/or strategic foresight; transformation planning and/or change management. Demonstrated experience conducting external scans and PESTEL analysis
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing strategic frameworks including human, fiscal and other resources
  • Demonstrated understanding of working in a highly diverse work environment and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Highly adaptable; thrives in fast-paced, agile and deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated political and business acumen in establishing trust and managing stakeholder relationships at all levels Ability to research and use evidence-based methods to create sound analysis to drive actionable results
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Keynote, etc.) with ability to build engaging presentations
  • Possesses effective listening and communication (written/oral/presentation) skills
  • Possesses creative problem solving and analysis skills
