Lerners is seeking a Plaintiff Personal Injury Department Coordinator to support our team in London. The ideal candidate will have over five (5) years of experience as a Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, or Legal Support person in the area who is looking for a different type of role. The primary duties will include managing the team’s incoming work which involves taking cold calls and managing website inquiries, answering potential client questions, and directing them to the correct contact. The ideal candidate for this position must have compassion, empathy and the skill set to provide support for potential personal injury clients. Applicants must possess excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills, and be able to multi-task. Advanced understanding of basic MS Office applications an asset, including Outlook, Word, and Teams, as well as familiarity and comfort working with video conferencing on Zoom and Teams. This is a Hybrid position and requires a minimum of 2 days in office or as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Information intake such as handling phone call and web inquiries
  • Managing rotation list
  • Requesting Freedom of Information and Police Reports from police services across the province
  • Tracking status of criminal and provincial offence charges through the courts
  • Supporting the Steering Committee in coordinating department activities, including taking and distributing minutes of Plaintiff Personal
  • Injury Practice group and Steering Committee meetings
  • Attendance at monthly Assignment Court in London on behalf of Plaintiff Personal Injury Practice Group
  • Generally assisting the London Plaintiff Personal Injury Practice Group.

Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience working in Personal Injury Law
  • Experience working directly with clients
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite and Zoom
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keen ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Experience with Primafact or similar software will be an asset
  • A Law Clerk diploma will be an asset
