Sarens Canada is currently recruiting for a detail orientated, solutions driven Payroll Administrator based out of our Leduc office.

As a skilled professional, you will be tasked with ensuring the team at Sarens Canada is provided with exceptional service from the HR department, including the processing of a weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees while providing overall HR support. You will play an important role in shaping the future of the payroll and HR functions of Sarens Canada as we continue to grow. Specifically, you will be tasked with:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Processing of weekly payroll for union and non-union employees
  • Verify timesheet entries are within the guidelines of the applicable collective agreements and employment standards legislation
  • Read, understand and interpret collective agreement and have the ability to effectively communicate the terms and conditions to managers and applicable staff
  • Assist with Performing Payroll Orientation on an as needed basis for new employees and be the point of contact for issues relating to timesheets and/or the ADP issues for all employees
  • Run reports as requested for the management team
  • Process electronic Record of Employment
  • Assist with maintaining detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • T4 and year end processing
  • Payroll experience with the Provinces of BC, Alberta and Ontario would be an asset

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years' experience processing payroll for union and non union
  • Post secondary education in accounting, or payroll certification preferred
  • Union and Building trades experience
  • NPI designation
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Be able to work independently yet remain an integral member of the HR team and provide support when necessary
  • Experience with ADP WorkForce Now would be considered an asset
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
