This is a part-time position; hours of work will vary based on organization needs. Afternoons, evenings and/or weekends will be required.

We are currently looking for Children’s Program - Supply Instructors to assist our permanent staff with program support. This position has the ability to turn into a permanent part time role.

What you will do…

As the Supply Children’s Program Instructor you will jump in and assist our permanent staff to run programs for children 0-12 years of age in our Health and Wellness Branches. You will provide exceptional experiences for children and families. This will include planning activities and crafts, facilitating games and songs, connecting with parent’s about children’s time at the Y, and implementing the sign in and out process. You will have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with families and peers as you assist in creating a safe and welcoming facility for all.


We are looking for amazing instructors to run:

Basketball (6-12 year olds)

Soccer (6-12 year olds)

Play Care (0-5 years of age)

The Zone (6-12 years old)

Active Kids (6-12)


The ideal candidate is willing to support and run at least two of these programs.


What you will bring…

You will bring a minimum of 1 years’ experience working with Children. Coaching experience is a bonus. You are committed to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to diverse needs. You will have well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with fellow employees, children, families and community partners. This position requires your willingness to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings and weekends. You will also be required to present a clear, current, Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening. Standard First and CPR certification is required within the first three months of employment.
