Job Description

In conjunction with The James A. Richardson International Airport, Indigo Park Canada Inc. is currently looking for an Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for all parking and non parking contracts between the airport and Indigo Park.

As the Airport Operations Manager, you’ll be on the front lines, solving operational and logistical issues while supporting the needs of all stakeholders. A strong leader and communicator, you will become a trusted advisor to our client with the ability and experience required to advise and support our current 30 dedicated staff members at the airport.

Overseeing four key operations at the airport with 24/7 coverage:

  • Valet
  • Parking Lot Attendants
  • Information Booth
  • Overseeing Shuttle Bus

What Would You Be Doing?

Management and Leadership

  • Develop and define annual objectives, manage their achievements and evaluate the results in connection with the business plan and strategic orientation of the organization;
  • Effectively communicate the organization's vision to team members and mobilize employees to develop a culture of operational excellence;
  • Establish and manage site operating and maintenance budgets;
  • Examine market research and consumer trends to proactively determine demand, potential revenue and the impact on the operations in order to effectively implement operational plans based on projections;
  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies aimed at improving the profitability of activities;
  • Establish and monitor performance indicators and measures necessary to achieve operational efficiency objectives;
  • Check and analyze the financial statements monthly in order to follow budgetary objectives, target opportunities and establish corrective measures to be implemented when necessary;
  • Coordinate and lead administrative meetings.

Management of Operations

  • Ensure the proper management of: procedures, health and safety, equipment and software specific to operations;
  • Ensure that the control measures are respected;
  • Foster an environment focused on excellence in customer service and ensure the quality of services offered by the entire organization;
  • Plan and direct the services of various suppliers;
  • Assess the needs and specify specifications of the equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased and ensure monitoring and inventory of same;
  • Plan and direct activities related to the installation of new equipment;
  • Perform data analysis to define and implement operational changes aimed at improving profitability and customer service.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Ensure the respect and renewal of contracts as well as the maintenance of good business relations with our corporate client and their team members;
  • Compile data and prepare documents on operational happenings and future operational enhancements;
  • Meet with our corporate client to identify issues, assess and recommend various solutions;
  • Plan and direct all activities (administratively and in the field) related to the contract;
  • Be proactive and constantly keep abreast of new information regarding market trends.

Human Resources Management

  • Ensure sound management of staff;
  • Develop and maintain an organizational structure and a human resources development plan ensuring continuous effective and tight management of all activities;
  • Establish the order of priority of tasks, assign work to senior staff and ensure that deadlines are met;
  • Managing, planning, scheduling, training, and directing the activities of the Shift Supervisors;
  • Manage and act, with the support of human resources, on major labor relations files: employee terminations, recovery plans, investigations or reorganization;
  • Maintain the development, deployment and monitoring of best working practices in close collaboration with the human resources department;
  • Evaluate the manpower required for operations.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in operations and business management;
  • Bachelor's degree in administration or any other related field.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating service contracts;
  • Experience in business relationships with clients;
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
