Operations Manager

We are inviting applications for an immediate opening for an Operations Manager with a general understanding of basic mechanics. This position is located in Vernon BC and can not be remote. The Operations Manager is responsible to coordinate a number of moving parts and ensure busses in the fleet are in compliance with CVSE.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• manage the day-to-day operations of our fleet and shop facilities
• ensure continued compliance with CVSE; manage the safety, inspection schedule, regular and seasonal maintenance
• oversee the shop facilities and managing the mechanic and autobody program including scheduling, inventory and parts sourcing, maximizing speed of repairs with the goal of minimizing down time
• ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness
• jump in on emergency trips as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• valid class 1 (or class 2 with air) with a clean driver’s abstract
• experience driving school buses an asset
• organized, with good time management and communication abilities
• able to provide support and guidance to all team members in your department
• able to collaborate across departments
• have sound working knowledge of vehicles, repair & maintenance requirements, safety & licensing
• be comfortable using computers and cell phones, having experience with basic office software and spreadsheets
• be flexible and innovative
• have history of good management skills
• possess understanding & experience in small business operations
• excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• team player, focused on the internal customer as well as the external customer needs

JOB TYPE:
Permanent, full-time

WAGE:
Salaried position 55,000 – 60,000 per year, commensurate with experience

SCHEDULE:
8 hour shifts Monday to Friday plus on-call rotation for emergencies & breakdowns

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
