Who Are We?

Niagara Children’s Centre is recognized throughout the Niagara Region as the provider of rehabilitation and support services to over 5,800 children and youth with physical, developmental and communicative delays and disabilities each year. Core services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, augmentative and alternative communication, family services and therapeutic recreation. Our family centred programs aim at helping each child achieve their own unique potential within their home, school and in the community.

Niagara Children’s Centre is looking for:

Occupational Therapist (Multiple 1.0 or 0.6 FTE Permanent)

*Please note, the Centre is currently looking to fill six (6) full-time OR part-time permanent OT positions*

What will You be Doing?

The Occupational Therapist works to improve participation and quality of life through a child’s ability to perform role-appropriate, day-to-day tasks necessary for self-care (such as feeding, dressing, toileting); productivity (such as school, work); and leisure and play within their environment. This process involves assessment, identification of strengths and needs, goal-setting, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment in a direct, indirect or consultative manner, as indicated, then discharge.

Let’s be honest, COVID-19 has made organizations shift their focus and make adjustments to how we all do things. The Centre has had an extraordinary opportunity to grow during this time with adding to our clinical and administrative teams, introducing new ways of providing treatment and hitting some incredible milestones. We are confident that we will continue to grow and evolve. We find ourselves looking forward at how we can continue to put children and families first by providing innovative ways of delivering high quality services, and strengthening our family centred care philosophy. Because at the end of the day, we all want to see “Niagara’s Children and Youth at their Best!”

Does This Sound Like You?

  • Registered and membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Completed a post-secondary degree in OT
  • Have a strong interest or experience in:

a). School Based Rehabilitation

b). Autism Spectrum Disorders for Preschoolers

c). Active rehab for 0-18yrs with various neurological, developmental and/or physical challenges

  • Sound understanding of OT amongst children and youth
  • New grads are welcome to apply!
