D U T I E S
Red River College Polytechnic has an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse who no longer
wants to work mandated overtime or shift work. RRC Polytech nurses work a regular Monday to
Friday day shift with paid time off during statutory holidays and the annual week-long December
holiday shut down.

Reporting to the Manager of Safety and Health Services, the Nurse works collaboratively within a
team environment to provides excellent customer service to a diverse population of staff, faculty,
and students. The Health Centre is a fast-paced department that requires nurses to be forward
thinking and solution oriented. This position will be based out of Notre Dame Campus, but also
provides support to all RRC Polytech campuses (including the Exchange District and Regional
Campuses). The Nurse is responsible to ensure that clinical records are kept in accordance with
all legislated acts such as PHIA, FIPPA, etc.

The Health Centre provides a wide range of services such as mental health triage, assistance
with medical care plans, managing a walk-in clinic, responding to on-campus incidents, and
providing education on health related topics.

The Health Centre has a robust immunization program to ensure students are prepared to enter
the healthcare field. The Health Centre provides flu and covid-19 clinics to help protect staff,
faculty and students onsite.

R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
  • Experience working in a heath care setting
  • Maintains professional and any specialty certification standards
  • Ability to carry out multiple demands with frequent interruptions, including urgent and/or
emergent care
  • Ability to effectively function in an independent working environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with many departments and people
  • Certified Health Care Professional level CPR
  • Ability to provide best practice advice related to maintaining a healthy learning and working
environment for a diverse population within professional scope of practice
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and

continuous improvement

  • Occupational Health Nurse, COHN, COHNC or RPN
