Maintenance Millwright

The position of Maintenance Millwright will be at our Galloway Sawmill operation, located in Galloway, BC.

Responsibilities

• Working safely
• Coordinating Millwrights functions with overall plant operations, preparing parts lists and ordering and retrieving parts as needed
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment
• Work as part of a team to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including disassembling and reassembling machinery.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment
• Perform work in a manner consistent with plant safety, housekeeping standards, and quality checks
• Diagnosing and repairing different types of equipment consistent with a sawmill environment
• Keeping your work area safe, clean, and well maintained.
• Taking timely action to correct unsafe work conditions

• Maintaining a continuous improvement focus by developing and participating in the implementation of solutions for the work area
• Working effectively and communicating respectfully

Requirements/Qualifications

• A commitment to everyone’s safety
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience maintaining industrial equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and skills in rigging, fabricating, repairing equipment and welding would be an asset
• Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright certificate would be an asset.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings would be an asset
