Haliburton Highlands Health Services has a permanent full time position available for an energetic and self-motivated individual wishing to join the multidisciplinary team in the role of Mental Health Counsellor/Case Manager, to provide intervention, assessment, treatment and case management services to individuals and their families with serious Mental Health and Addictions related conditions. The successful candidate will be a member of the HHHS Mental Health Program, and work in partnership with the Ross Memorial Hospital Mental Health Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; a Master’s Degree would be an asset;
  • Minimum 3 years related mental health clinical experience in a community setting working with youth and/or adults who suffer with serious mental health and addiction related conditions;
  • Registration with the appropriate professional College or organization required;
  • Comprehensive understanding of both regional and rural service delivery issues;
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile in good repair and required insurance coverage.
  • Ability to work in a client’s living, learning and working environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Strong workload management skills to respond to multi-faceted and competing demands;
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, etc.) and collateral service system;
  • Computer literacy is a requirement, with ability to use MS office Outlook, word, excel, power point;
  • Experience with IAR, OCAN, and OPOC and asset;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and computer competency.
