We service customers in a variety of industries: Marine, Forestry, Mining, Material Handling, Original Equipment Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Production facilities. Our Kamloops branch is currently searching for a mechanic/technician – Hydraulics to join our team. This is a full-time position in the specialty field of hydraulics.

Mechanics/technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, commissioning, rebuilding or modifying hydraulic fluid systems, controls and components either in the shop or the field.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Mechanical experience in an industrial setting. Experience in hydraulics with pumps, motors, testing and setup is preferred
  • Machining experience is an asset
  • Able to read and understand Schematics and manuals
  • Knowledge of components and hydraulic systems used in industry and mobile equipment
  • Ability to follow, with detail, written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attendance track record with the ability to get along well with others
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills (ability to read and write legibly)
  • Ability to remain on your feet (standing or walking) for the majority of the workday
  • Weight handling up to 75 lbs.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs
  • Teardown, inspect and produce a bill of materials of parts required to repair components
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Assemble and test hydraulic components used in industry and on mobile equipment
  • Perform bench work including assembly and disassembly, modification, cleaning, measuring, inspection and testing of hydraulic equipment
  • Installing, testing, repairing or rebuilding hydraulic equipment
  • Identifying and applying lubricants including oils, greases, graphite; installing lubrication equipment and components
  • Reading and interpreting job specifications, blueprints, engineering or design drawings and schematics
  • Communicate professionally with customers as and when required
  • Be familiar and follow all Health & Safety rules & regulations
