Compensation: $47.13-52.00 per hour, OT at 2x that rate

Job description:

• Performs nursing assessments within the scope of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse..
• Implement and evaluate nursing care to residents, including medication administration.
• Perform wound care with assistance from the RNs in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Working with the RN, based on assessments, contributes to the development and ongoing changes to the individualized plan of care.
• Ability to administer oral, transdermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications including PRN medication in accordance with organizational and pharmaceutical policies and procedures.
• Provide work direction and supervision by assigning and delegating tasks to HCA’s.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, significant others, and staff by adhering to established health and safety policies, standards and procedures including emergency procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Report to and perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Care.

Qualifications:

• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
• Graduate of recognized school of nursing.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Certificate of Geriatric Nursing or previous experience (preferred)
• 1 year RN or LPN experience in Canada (preferred)
