Travel Contract- 3 Months

Full Time 8 HR shifts

$38/hour + $25/ Working Shift Meal Per Diem

Travel Provided / Private Accommodations

$50/ Month Coffee Allowance

$100/ Contract Self Care Allowance

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
  • Current CPR
  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Vulnerable Sector Check renewed within the year

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
  • Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
  • Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
  • Provides routine care for patients.
  • Observes patients’ health.
  • Reviews medical charts.
  • Accompanies patients to their rooms.
  • Assists physicians and registered nurses.
  • Communicates with patients and their families.
  • Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
  • Prepares specimens for lab courier.
  • Administers medications.
  • Provides wound care.
  • Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas.
  • Assists with patient comfort.
  • Monitor catheters.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Admitting new residents
  • Assisting physicians during rounds of residents’ rooms
  • Assigning and delegating duties to non-licensed nursing staff
  • Monitoring resident care and supervising other nursing staff
  • Performing ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and mental health
  • Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must comply with:

  • Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
  • Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
  • Must maintain Registered Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
