This is your opportunity to join the teams supporting individuals with severe mental illness. The Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health Injection Clinic position is located in Grande Prairie, based out of the Aberdeen Centre Building and offered as a temporary full time position. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be responsible for injection clinic services including direct client care administering injection medications, documentation and collaboration with other team members including Assertive Outreach, Community Treatment Order, and Psychiatry. There is often a need to be familiar with available options for supportive funding avenues for those unable to afford such and assist in getting this in place. You will report directly to the Supervisor of the Assertive Outreach Team, need to be comfortable and skillful in interacting with clients with severe mental illness, have good communication skills, and be flexible in adapting to changing client needs. You will be skillful in using computer systems, have strong organization skills, possess strong time management skills, and be able to maintain a calm supportive presence in a busy environment. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with Article 14.01 in the AHS/AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Care Collective Agreement, Licensed Practical Nurses shall be paid $27.04/hour - $35.42/hour ($27.58/hour ¿ $36.13/hour effective April 1, 2023).
