Role

Are you a detail-oriented and analytical professional who loves reviewing legal documents and is looking for a change? Then this is the opportunity for you!



As a core Government business, Land Titles provides an environment that ensures excellence in delivery of registration and information services to Albertans. Qualified staff in offices located in Calgary and Edmonton review over 160 different types of documents and plans.



Working in a quasi-judicial environment, staff examine legal documents to ensure they comply with all current legislation (in excess of 100 statutes), case law and policies and procedures before accepting them for registration. All registered plans, titles, and documents are available to be searched by the public, for a fee. You will be responsible for the integrity of the information contained in the Land Titles Registry. You will also have an immediate and direct impact on the Alberta economy and ownership throughout the province.


The Land Titles Analyst is an entry level position in which the successful candidate will receive training in a combination of in-house paralegal courses and work experience, and will work under the supervision of the trainer to perform paralegal examinations of all types of documents submitted to Land Titles for possible registration.

One year post-secondary certificate (preferred) in a related field plus one year related experience or equivalent as described below is required.

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Experience working in a legal environment
  • Experience working with land titles
  • Experience reviewing documents to ensure they comply with applicable policies, and/or legislation and/or acts, and/or regulations.


Equivalencies will be considered based on the following:

  • A related two year diploma and no experience or;
  • No post-secondary education, but a minimum of two years’ related experience.

Salary

Land Titles Analyst: $2,017.62 - $2,480.72 bi-weekly ($52,659 - $64,746 / year)


Notes

Due to operational requirements, this role is not eligible for the remote/hybrid work programs.



Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.



There are a number of positions available with the possibility of extension or permanency.

Calgary Land Titles is the Service Alberta Building located at 710-4 Ave SW Calgary AB T2P 0K3.
