About the role
Reporting to the IT Manager of Applications, the Junior Software Engineer will work on a close-knit team using agile development practices to develop OEC’s next generation logistics platform. If you are a natural at performing regular business intelligence activities in the market and keeping the Company informed on market conditions, trends, and competitor’s activities then this opportunity is for you.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product managers and domain experts to distill complex business problems into elegant technical solutions
- Design flexible and maintainable coding
- Work with the IT team to review problems, define and test solutions
- Proactive approach to finding solutions and managing problems
- Proactively identify areas for improvement, seek solutions and make recommendations
- Remain up to date of development technologies, both current and future
- Other related duties, as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Skills & Attributes:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience developing software applications
- Some experience with the Microsoft .NET development stack (C#, ASP.NET)
- Some experience writing SQL queries against Microsoft SQL Server
- Some experience with HTML and CSS.
- Experience working in the logistics or supply chain industries a plus
