POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are a team of 18 friendly colleagues in the Technical and Procurement Department who are looking for a new Project Manager colleague for asset maintenance and major renovation mandates. Our team annually accomplishes nearly 300 construction, repair and modernization projects for residential and commercial buildings throughout Quebec. You will be responsible for completing the projects assigned to you in their entirety!

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze the projects in order to clearly define the scope of each of them
  • And the day will be so busy and fun, you won't see it go by! It's easier with golden colleagues like us!
  • Communicate with subcontractors, analyze submissions and present your recommendations
  • Follow up during the call for tenders process
  • Follow up on the work as well as the necessary administrative follow-ups, often within a tight timeframe
  • In collaboration with the teams in place in our properties, define, plan and coordinate projects taking into account the impacts on daily operations
  • Manage change notices and negotiate extras
  • Mandate and coordinate meetings with professionals, architects, engineers, etc.
  • Negotiate and prepare contractual documents with contractors
  • Prepare project budgets and schedules
  • Provide recommendations on the solutions to be applied and ensure follow-up
  • Provide unparalleled customer service at all levels
  • Start the day with a good coffee and a chat with colleagues! ... we allow ourselves to tease the boss a little at the same time about his poor results in the hockey pool!
  • Supervise and control the preparation of plans and specifications as well as tender documents

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a degree in engineering, architecture, environmental design or equivalent relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the building code
  • Master the Office suite and MS Project
  • Knowledge of building maintenance is an asset
  • Note: it is not necessary to be familiar with pool hockey!
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in construction project management
