Key Responsibilites:

  • Support Accounts Receivable team in:
    • Filtering and compiling large data sets from various sources to prepare manual and system-generated customer invoices on a weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly basis
    • Reviewing customer invoice backups for completeness and accuracy, and sending invoices to customers on a timely basis
    • Reconciling customer payments against remittance advices and recording payments in the accounting system
    • Compiling customer account statements and following up with customers to assist with payment collections procedures
  • Support Accounts Payable team in:
    • Processing invoices for entry into the accounting system based on required fields such as date, entity, location, department and other categories as applicable
    • Reviewing employee reimbursements and vendor invoices for reasonability
    • Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues internally and with vendors
    • Obtaining appropriate approvals on all employee reimbursements and vendor invoices
    • Reconciling bank accounts and vendor statements in a timely manner to assist with month-end closing procedures
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports and analyses
  • Participate in various tasks, projects and process improvement initiatives, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of related accounting experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment within the accounts payable, accounts receivable, or accounting team
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or bookkeeping
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, including advanced Excel skills (i.e. lookup functions, pivot tables, sorting large, unstructured data sets and deriving formula)
  • Strong customer service, communication, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to prioritize in a fast-paced growth environment
  • Collaborative and excellent team player with demonstrated ability to work within a team
  • Strong aptitude in leveraging technology to simplify internal processes, minimize manual work and limit delays in processing
