Interior Design & Staging Assistant

JT Designs is an interior design and staging company based in Milton, Ontario. We specialize in residential projects and pride ourselves on creating beautiful and functional interiors for our clients. We are looking for a creative, self-motivated, energetic, and highly skilled Interior Design & Staging Assistant to join our growing team. You will be an integral member of the team and will be involved in all aspects of the interior design and staging process, working with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure a successful outcome.

Interior Design Responsibilities;

  • Meet with clients for initial design consultations, assist with notes, site measures, hand sketching/drawings, and perform subsequent site visits
  • Collaborate with Principal Designer on all projects
  • Formulate designs that are aesthetic and conducive to the client
  • Select design components to create a unique and purposeful space
  • Be curious, client focused with a keen ability to listen to their lifestyle needs
  • Source furnishings, fabrics, décor, and finishes
  • Prepare drawings, floor plans, and client presentations
  • Proficient in space planning and furniture layouts
  • Develop/create vision boards based on client criteria and lifestyle needs
  • Understand our vision to exceed client expectations
  • Work in collaborative environment
  • Manage multiple projects at once
  • Research continually for products, manufacturers, and all details pertaining to the creative design world

Qualifications;

  • A degree/diploma from an accredited institution in Interior Design
  • 1-2 years experience in the industry / field
  • Developed creative, technical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and floor plans
  • Proficiency with Technical Software: AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop, Keynote, & Computer Software Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Posses broad range, understanding, and appreciation of diverse design styles
  • Ability to take initiative, be diligent, focused, manage their time effectively and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful

Home Staging Assistant

We are looking for someone who is driven, humble, and loves people. Someone who is punctual, detail oriented, and a problem solver. A team player with the ability to take direction from superiors, and ownership for their work/actions. This position moves a lot of small furniture, bedding, accessories, and at times some larger furniture pieces. The perfect candidate possesses a “can do” attitude and enjoys getting the job done. You care about the quality of your work and proudly represent the team. This is a fast-paced position, perfect for someone who likes to keep moving.

Responsibilities;

  • Hang Art, Mirrors, and other Wall Décor
  • Assist team with regular stage/de-stage tasks
  • Assemble and disassemble furniture
  • Assist in keeping the warehouse organized and clean
  • Moving small furniture pieces, artwork, bedding, and accessories
  • Drop-Off/Pick-Up Trips for small furniture and accessories as needed
  • Adhere to company safety guidelines

Qualifications;

  • Capable of using hand tools (hammer / drill / level/ tape measure)
  • Ability to learn to hang Art and other wall decor
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

This is a part-time position with potential to become a full-time role.

All candidates are asked to send their Resume, a Cover Letter, and Design Portfolio.

This position requires a vehicle as the successful candidate will be traveling to job sites, suppliers, and clients homes. The primary role, with exception of noted travel, will be from the office, but can also be done remotely (from home - as needed), whereas the secondary role will always vary in location, where travel is a must. Ideal candidate is preferably located in Milton or the surrounding areas.

The qualified candidate will be required to complete an AutoCad and Keynote assessment including a brief Interior Design assignment.

Other Requirements;

  • Ability to pass / provide a background check
  • Valid Ontario drivers License
  • Clean Driving Record

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexible between 9am - 7pm
  • Ability to be flexible on weekends as needed

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: From $20.00 per hour
