POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Informatics & Data Integration Specialist provides focus to system integration and day-to-day operational support for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and associated patient care systems that comprise STEGH’s Digital Health Strategy.

The position will utilize in-depth knowledge of Cerner Millennium and other clinical applications to provide system implementation and support activities including education, troubleshooting, escalation and remediation of issues. In addition, this position will provide operational support to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of clinical data interfaces, transfer of information between systems, reporting, and smooth interoperability.

Some of the primary responsibilities include:

  • Support STEGH staff (clinicians, providers and non-regulated staff) and members of the Information Technology Systems Team in evaluating potential solutions, and the planning, prioritization and delivery of tools and systems for patient care.
  • Provide integrated support for STEGH’s electronic health record and associated clinical information systems.
  • Work with other Clinical Informatics and STEGH staff to "translate" user needs and requests related to clinical information systems and the development of roll out and delivery plans.
  • Design, develop, select, test, implement and evaluate new or modified technology solutions (hardware, software, processes) to support patients and health care professionals to achieve the best possible patient experience.
  • Work in collaboration with other IT resources and stakeholders at STEGH and regionally to ensure efficient and reliable data transfer.

HOURS:

This position must be available to work 37.50 hours per week. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Regulated health professional, registered with the appropriate governing body or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience of clinical experience in a hospital setting, with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical processes and data integration systems
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ previous experience in clinical informatics in a hospital environment is preferred
  • Working knowledge of LEAN methodologies and LEAN value stream mapping is preferred
  • Understanding of computers, software, and the ability to leverage these tools in a health care setting
  • Subject Matter Expert with working knowledge of Oracle Cerner and Novari electronic patient record applications highly desirable
  • Understanding of patient and data flow through the care delivery process
  • Experienced in clinical settings, clinical informatics implementation and support
  • Working knowledge of data interface tools and technologies (e.g. hL7, APIs) is preferred
  • Advanced Computer skills to include the regular use of Microsoft applications (including Microsoft 365), productivity tools, data printing/program logic, document management and storage systems
  • Self-directed individual, able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable interaction and communication with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Team and customer focused with the ability to communicate respectfully in a pleasant, flexible and professional manner with all patients, families, staff and volunteers
