Who are we searching for?

We are looking for Full Time Industrial Mechanics/Millwrights to join our busy and growing Future Transfer team on our day shift!

Job Duties:

  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, and programmable logic control systems and modify, repair, or replace parts of machinery as required to maintain production capacity
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, and modify, repair, or replace parts of machinery to maintain production uptime
  • Troubleshooting/repairing/installation of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Optimize all equipment focusing on safety, efficiency and reliability
  • Completion on all planned and unplanned work or repairs and adherence to PM schedules
  • Participates and promotes continuous improvement activities
  • Maintains and works in a clean safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards, and contribute to the company’s safety culture while following company’s safety standards
  • Clean, inspect, and lubricate machine parts as needed and determine future maintenance requirements/needs
  • Assist with project and shutdown scheduling
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management

Required Knowledge/Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing facility (experience with packaging equipment would be an asset)
  • Extensive mechanical knowledge including pneumatics and packaging equipment
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Millwright will be given preference
  • Welding experience would be an asset
  • Good understanding of safety procedures and protocols
  • Good analytical and attention to detail skill
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work off hours and call ins as required
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skill
  • Familiarity with forklift and articulating equipment is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Working in chemical plant and production environment
  • May be required to work outside during repairs and for preventative maintenance requirements
  • Long periods of standing and walking
