We’re looking for an Industrial Sales Manager with strong technical abilities to join our team in Nova Scotia, Canada. In this role, you’ll demonstrate your sales expertise by driving the sales activities of MSA’s fall protection, portable instruments, hard hats, and industrial self-contained breathing apparatus and more into the Eastern Canada regions of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Responsibilities:
Description of duties and responsibilities:
  • Increase sales of MSA industrial safety-related products with a primary focus toward the industrial safety market.
  • Implement strategies and tactics relating to target markets and segments.
  • Develop and manage the business-to-business relationships with regional and national distribution partners.
  • Effectively communicate voice of customer (VOC) feedback into our new product development process and to other stakeholders.
  • Up to 30% of selling time will be spent training/working with industrial distributors on how to sell all MSA's product lines focusing 70% of selling time within the industrial market.
  • Partner with other team members and channel partners to support “in service” product training and other new product implementation activities.
  • Build factory relationships with contractors, procurement, and various end users.
  • Coordinate/motivate sales and service coverage within distribution network.
  • Report trends/conditions, competitive activity, and sales opportunities into a CRM program.
  • Leverage internet and social media tools to complete research and share product information or solutions.
Qualifications:
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  • Demonstrated selling and customer account management skills in industrial PPE, including solid negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of understanding customer needs and developing solutions to assure customer satisfaction related to industrial PPE.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal).
  • Proven ability to guide, mentor and motivate others, including channel partners.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to grasp technical product knowledge.
  • Proven success in training.
  • Experience with social media for communication purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute sales plans and overcome obstacles.
  • Proven ability to utilize CRM data analytics, reporting, and forecasting information to guide business decisions.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time within the territory.
Education and experience required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:
    • Level I: 3 years of sales experience.
      Level II: 4 years of sales experience.
    • Level III: 5 years of sales experience.
  • Master’s degree in related field may be substituted for up to two years of relevant work experience.
