Human Resource Generalist

Challenge/Role
The human resource generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, benefits management, and HRIS functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to organizational needs, employee goodwill and business needs.

Opportunity

Description of Essential Functions
Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead recruitment efforts that include web-based job boards, social media, and other posting outlets. Ensure all positions are posted internally and externally and place advertising in compliance with guidelines.
  • Manage the recruitment process for entry to mid-level positions; draft job descriptions and position announcements; meet with hiring managers to clarify qualifications and screening criteria and staffing needs before the required start date.
  • Conduct initial applicant screen and present applicants to hiring managers for consideration; conduct interviews, reference checks, and background checks for selected candidates
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews.
  • Support in developing campus recruitment strategy and process in place

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Enhance employee satisfaction by immediately addressing employee complaints
  • Promote HR programs that will result in a more productive and conflict-free work environment Consult with managers and staff regarding employee relations concerns, including corrective action, workplace disputes, and facilitation of resolution of issues between management and staff
  • Leads employee engagement initiatives in collaboration with the Everlink Social Committee

Performance Management:

  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about organizational and HR policies, job duties, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • As assigned, manages routine, less complex employee relations and performance issues in conjunction with line management
  • Support managers in documenting and communicating performance feedback

Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate and enhance performance

  • Monitor metrics to measure the impact of development activities
  • Track performance improvement plansLearning & Development
  • Assist in the development of the Everlink Learning Academy
  • Consult with managers on the best means to address performance and development gaps
  • Deliver training content using creative and relevant methods
  • Maintain thorough and accurate training records for staff
  • Monitor employees' completion of annual mandatory regulations and compliance pieces of training
  • Provide a standard methodology that verifies employees have the right knowledge and skills prior to performing tasks
  • Policies & Procedures:

Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole and to improve the employees’ experience

  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to the development of policiesOther Duties

About You
Education & Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or organizational development.
  • 4+ years of experience working in the human resources field
  • Experience with professional job boards and recruiting software such as Indeed, Monster, LinkedIn
  • Superior knowledge of MS Office and HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technology systems as needed
  • Must have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and under time constraints
