REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding and in-depth knowledge of Employment Standards Act.
  • Previous experience working with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) preferred.
  • Trustworthy and approachable.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, positive thinker capable of adapting and responding to a rapidly growing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical skills.
  • High personal integrity and ability to manage sensitive and/or confidential information and documents.
  • Previous office management experience would be an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily responsible for human resources activities of the firm; recruitment, employee file management, training and onboarding, benefits and employees’ compensation and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts for talented legal professionals (lawyers and legal staff), including developing job descriptions and postings, pre-screening resumes, conducting interviews, performing reference checks, creating offer letters, and coordinating onboardings.
  • Support and work closely with the Accounting/Payroll Division to monitor employee benefits and compensation.
  • Assist with benefits, plan administration, and enrollments.
  • Management of HRIS including updating employee files.
  • Actively participate in the review and ongoing development of employee handbook, programs, and practices.
  • Coordinate and participate in various projects/initiatives to maintain a healthy workplace culture.
  • Coordinate and implement Health and Safety practices in accordance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
