Position: Human Resources Administrative Assistant – Markham (One-year contract with full-time 40 hours per week , On-site position)

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Supports the HR Department by executing a variety of tasks in the areas of records management, recruitment, on-boarding/off-boarding, compliance, employee benefits, among others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Records Management

  • Sorts through incoming data (such as training and certification documents) and determines record/data type for proper action.
  • Records data into various electronic applications.
  • Conducts regular audits of data to ensure accuracy of information in various systems.
  • Maintains other human resources records in relation to HR actions such as new hires, on-boarding, off-boarding, employee changes, etc.

Recruitment and On-boarding

  • Assists in posting of jobs internally and externally.
  • Provides assistance in the on-boarding process.

Off-boarding

  • Confirming off-boarding requests according to process.
  • Monitoring completion of all tasks from different stake holders.

Employee Benefits

  • Assists in the administration of employee benefits.
  • Responds to employee questions and escalates questions to other HR team members.

The HR Administrative Assistant will perform other tasks not listed above to help the department achieve its goals and objectives that align with the overall business strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HR diploma preferred
  • At least one year of experience in general HR administration supporting recruitment, training, benefits administration
  • Works well with data including data entry and validation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with SharePoint and an HRIS system highly preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
