Job Description/Duties:
Specific Skills
- Operate cash register; Suggestive selling;
- Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments;
- Scan items; Tabulate total payment for goods or services required;
- Receive payment for goods or services;
- Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales;
- Stock shelves and clean counter area; Greet customers;
- Wrap or place merchandise in bags;
- Weigh produce and bulk foods;
- Provide customer service;
- Participate in promotional activities;
- Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products;
- Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary;
- Business Equipment and Computer Applications : Price scanner; Electronic cash register; Interac machine;
- Work Setting : Hotel, motel, resort; Supermarket/grocery store
- Security and Safety : Bondable; Criminal record check
- Free private accommodation
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities :
- Fast-paced environment; Work under pressure; Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Standing for extended periods; Bending, crouching, kneeling.
Full time hours with 35-40 hours a week.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Languages : English
- Education : Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience : At least 6 months work related experience
- Work Location Information : Willing to relocate
- Personal Suitability : Flexibility; Accurate; Team player; Excellent oral communication
