The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for a highly motivated and team oriented individual to assist the Information Technology department with the daily administration and support of the Town’s GIS software from May to August.

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the individual will assist with the administration of the GIS software and applications. The co-op will be responsible for the collection and/or maintenance and distribution of digital data; completion of maps for internal departments and external agencies; ensuring that data integrity and corporate standards are followed; assisting in the creation and maintenance of corporate databases and the GIS applications; and assisting with documentation of processes and procedures. This position will be responsible for the digitization of Town assets, Town easements, Town signs and other projects as assigned.

The successful candidates will possess a basic knowledge of the ESRI suite of ArcGIS applications, (Field maps, Collector, Survey123, Pro, Catalogue and Online) along with familiarity in the Microsoft Office suite. In addition, the candidate will be able to communicate effectively with users with varied levels of knowledge regarding information technology.

In order to be eligible for this summer employment opportunity with the Town, you:

· must be a registered full-time post-secondary student in a GIS program or related discipline with emphasis on GIS

· must be able to travel to offsite locations in a timelyand efficient manner, as required;

· must submit a successful Criminal Record and Police Information Check as a pre-condition of employment;

· and provide proof confirming receipt of the full series of a Covid-19 vaccine as a condition of hire in accordance with the Town’s mandatory vaccination policy.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.03 (2022 rates) per hour.
