Canadian Memorial Services serves the Greater Toronto Area with three stand-alone Simple Alternative Funeral Centres and six Funeral Centres that are located on cemeteries owned by the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries. Our success is the result of a dedicated team of professional employees who are committed to providing compassionate, caring service to each and every client, with a special focus on providing culturally sensitive service.

We are currently looking for a licensed Funeral Director to join our team at the Pine Hills Funeral Centre in Scarborough.

This role offers:

  • A comprehensive benefit package, including a company pension plan
  • 37.5 hours a week, with no shift scheduled longer than 7.5 hours
  • No on-call requirements after hours
  • All statutory holidays are observed (with the exception of December 26).
  • Paid sick and vacation days available

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Arrange, co-ordinate and/or facilitate activities associated with family needs such as services, transfers, preparation of human remains and any other activities associated with their needs.
  • Present and sell products and services to at-need and pre-need families and assist them in their decisions for disposition of human remains
  • Respond to information and service inquiries
  • Maintain funeral home facility and vehicles as required
  • Perform other sundry tasks as assigned

Hours/Days of Work:

  • Schedule is a combination of days, evenings and weekends

Qualifications:

  • Valid Funeral Director’s Licence
  • Funeral directing and arranging experience are required
  • Able to provide funeral services to various faiths and cultures
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanour
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to multi-task
  • A valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence and clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
  • Aftercare and/or bereavement training would be considered an asset
